Ottawa– Nov 6, 2017 – The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation (CFFF), today announced it has received a grant for $30,000 USD from the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, Inc. The grant will be used by the CFFF to continue their Education Program for the children and spouses of fallen firefighters.
The Motorola Solutions Foundation awards grants each year to organizations, such as the CFFF, which support and advance public safety programs and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education initiatives. This year, there was a focus on programming for women, underrepresented minorities, people with disabilities and veterans.
“The Foundation cannot support the families of our fallen firefighters without the help of great organizations such as the Motorola Solutions Foundation’, said Robert Kirkpatrick, president of the CFFF.
This year, Motorola Solutions Foundation grants will support programs that help over 3.4 million students, teachers, first responders, and community members across the globe. Each participant will receive an average of 200 programming hours from its partner non-profit organizations and institutions.
