Shortly after the annual memorial, the Foundation was invited to attend the unveiling of the firefighters’ stamp in Halifax, home to the country’s oldest fire department. Thursday, the 13th of September was the day that the firefighters’ stamp was shown to the public.

“The stamp depicts a determined firefighter up close as two firefighters battle an inferno in the background. The image is intentionally universal, in order to reflect part-time or full-time professionals or volunteer firefighters in any community. They all save lives and protect property and the environment with their skills and courage” (CPC)

It was an honour to attend such a recognition event and we hope that all Canadians have the opportunity to collect (or use!) the firefighter stamp as well as all of the first responder series.

The CFFF attended the public unveiling of the new First Responders stamp recognizing firefighters.

CFFF Atlantic Director Bruce Paradis and Friend of the Foundation Dave Clement attended the 2018 unveiling of the Firefighter stamp.
