During the week of November 18 to 21, Wildland Director James MacKinnon represented the CFFF at the Wildland Fire Canada Conference in Ottawa, Ontario. Held every two years, this conference brings together operational government agency fire mangers, wildland fire science researchers, policymakers, government executives, and industry vendors from across Canada and internationally. The goal of the Foundation is to maintain or increase the awareness within the wildland fire industry, to gain commitments from wildland fire agencies to send uniformed staff to the annual Memorial Weekend in Ottawa, and to develop corporate relationships as we pursue the Foundation’s goals. Thank you goes to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre for donating a wildland painting to be used as a raffle prize and appreciation goes to the conference organizers for generously providing booth space to the CFFF throughout the event.
