Devyn Gale Memorial Volleyball Tournament

On Saturday May 31st, the inaugural Devyn Gale Memorial Volleyball Tournament was held in Revelstoke, BC. Organized by BC Wildfire Service firefighters from the Columbia Zone, this event brought together various agencies for a day of remembrance, fun, sun, and a perfectly timed mountain storm as the final trophy was being presented. In addition to the large contingent of wildland firefighters participating in the day-long event, teams from the local RCMP Detachment, Revelstoke Fire Rescue Services, the local hospital, and the highschool team (definitely ringers)  all joined in. A mid-day BBQ provided sustenance for those participating and those simply enjoying the event from the sidelines. In the end, this event was a great way to celebrate Devyn through a sports oriented activity, and was successful in raising $3,117.26 in support of the CFFF and the important work being done to Honour, Remember and Support.
