The 6th annual Firefighter Appreciation Day (FFAD) to benefit The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation was held on Saturday, October 1st, 2016 at Reebok CrossFit FirePower in Milton, Ontario. Teams of men and women participated on a rainy day to challenge their strength, stamina, team work, and strategy. All events were designed to mimic scenarios that firefighters face in intense on-the-job situations and the tactics they use to perform their jobs on a daily basis.

With the support of the Milton Fire Department, Toronto Fire Services and Toronto Firefighters Association who donate supplies and equipment, teams were comprised of current firefighters and also civilians looking to test their fitness levels completing the events wearing full bunker gear and scbas.

This year the event raised approximately $10,000 bringing the 6 year total to well over $42,000 for the CFFF! This year’s event also included approximately $1500 from a car wash run by the Milton Fire Department on September 11th the day of the CFFF annual ceremony in Ottawa.

Special thanks to Andrea and George Savard at Milton Crossfit for their continued commitment to the CFFF and its goals. For more information on the events and photos, visit www.firefighterappreciationday.ca
