National Defence Fire Service Chief Warrant Officers Donate Fund

In May, the Military Director to the Foundation, CWO Gerard Slaunwhite and his incoming replacement CWO Donnie Matthews donated the proceeds from the CWO Fund. The fund was established more than 20 years ago as a way to promote morale and fund retirement gifts with each CWO in the National Defence Fire Service contributing on an annual basis. With the decline in overall CWO positions in the RCAF, the Fire Service has seen over a 50% reduction in CWO positions and the remaining CWOs of the trade no longer saw it as feasible and decided to donate the balance of the fund to the CFFF. Thanks for thinking of our Fallen!
