Family Memories
“Sam” enjoyed a 31 year career with the Kamloops Fire Department. He started with the North Kamloops Fire Department in 1965, and when the city amalgamated in 1967, he continued with Kamloops Fire Rescue until his retirement, as Assistant Fire Chief, in 1996.
After retirement, Sam spent time doing what he loved; gardening, traveling, supporting Kamloops Blazers hockey, boating on the Shuswap, and cheering on his grandchildren, from the stands of their many events. Sam was a man of many talents and was able to fix and build many things. He helped renovate houses, build furniture, and restore his Mother’s 1961 Pontiac Tempest.
Sam was kind, patient and always had something interesting to talk about. He enjoyed the simple things in life and had an amazing memory of growing up in Kamloops and local history.
Always the loving and supportive family man, Grandpa is missed beyond measure by his wife, Lois, children; Brenda Wills (Jeff), Darrell, Kevin (Ann), and his 7 grandchildren.
