Captain Edward Stewart
Better known as Ted to all that knew him. Ted proudly served on the City of Calgary Fire Department for 37 years. For more than half of those years Ted also served his fellow fire-fighters on the executive of the Calgary Fire Association. He was a trustee on the Burns Memorial Trust Fund, a non-profit organization where children’s well-being is the focus, a cause that was very important to him.
Ted also served within his community in Calgary through his many years as a youth baseball and hockey coach. It was always important to him to give back to your community.
Ted's true legacy is the love of his family to whom he was affectionately known as Papa. There was never a major life or sporting event that Ted and his wife Jan missed that involved his children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren. Ted always took great pleasure in sharing his immense pride for each family member and their accomplishments.
Ted is sadly missed every day by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
