Story

David M Marlow, Trinity and Area Volunteer Fire Department, NL

Family Memories

Lieutenant David Marlow died while responding to an incident on June 8, 2022. He joined the Volunteer Fire Service in 2018. Dave Marlow was a proud member of the Trinity and Area Volunteer Fire Department. He joined the Volunteer Fire Service in September 2018 when he retired to Trinity, Newfoundland. He was the Fire Department Secretary/Treasurer and enjoyed taking part in fundraising and community events such as manning the BBQ stall at the Annual Trinity Festival.

David worked in the Ship Repair Industry for over 30 years, initially as a welder then into Ship Repair Management. From the early 2000s he traveled to South America, South Africa and Bahrain to oversee British Naval Ship repair/refit projects.

David was a proud father of two sons, Sam and Tom. He enjoyed watching international soccer and motor racing and walking his dogs. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family.

David suffered fatal injuries while responding to an Emergency Call on June 8th, 2022.

He was a loving husband and father, and he will forever be in our hearts. Although he only lived in Trinity for four years, the depth of feeling shown to his loved ones by so many local residents reminds them that his spirit will live on in his adopted community he came to love.
