Story

CAPTAIN RHEAL LEGER Dieppe Fire Department

Ray was a captain with the Dieppe Fire Department where he served the community as a Firefighter for 39 years. In 2000, he received the Canadian Firefighter of the Year bravery award. He loved his job and saw his crew as his extended family.

He was an adventurer, a rebel, a loyal friend, an exceptional father, a loving brother and a dedicated husband. He lived his life to the fullest every day.

Ray left many valuable lessons during his 57 years and the ones that stand out most are for people to face their fears head on; work hard and play hard and family first as his recipe for a full meaningful life.

His death, on January 5, 2023, was the result of a workplace illness.
