Story

George Harris was a proud Platoon Chief with City of Kingston Fire & Rescue. He was a trusted mentor, colleague, and friend to many during his 30 years of service. George is fondly remembered by his beloved D Crew for his leadership, big laugh, and “eggs benny,” which was a favourite firehall breakfast.

After his retirement in 2008, George was always off on another cruise or adventure. He especially enjoyed visiting his three daughters and cheering on his grandchildren, as well as road trips to see his siblings. When closer to home, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, and being at the Dove’s Nest cottage. George was a wonderful husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, and is deeply missed by everyone that knew him.
