Lloyd Bell
Captain
Story
Lloyd Bell died of a fire related illness 9 October 2004.
Lloyd joined the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department in 1965. He served his community for 32 years. As with all volunteers, he had to balance full time work, being a father and husband with being on call. He became station captain and saw the department change to part time employment and also saw the amalgamation with Hamilton Fire Department. Lloyd’s hobbies included canoeing, fishing and woodworking. He loved his family, his grandkids and was proud to see his two sons also join the Stoney Creek Fire Department while he was still working there. He died at age 78 from a fire related illness.
