Story
CAPTAIN PETER ST. DENIS - CITY OF GREATER SUDBURY FIRE SERVICES, ON
Captain Peter St. Denis died from a work-related illness on February 11, 2020. He joined the fire services in 1983.
Peter retired as Captain from the City of Greater Sudbury Fire Services in 2015 after a devastating metastatic prostate cancer diagnosis. Our hero left this world on February 11, 2020, having fought courageously until the very end. He was most proud of his two boys Callum and Eric, and always played an active role in their lives. He was the best and most patient husband to Sandra and is thought of, and missed every day.
Peter is remembered for his keen sense of humour and his knack for teasing others, including his fire brothers and sisters. He was always helpful to friends and neighbours and was known to have just about every gadget, tool or odds and ends that would one day come in handy or be useful to someone.
Peter excelled in sports, was an avid golfer, and loved to travel. He always felt he had been given a privilege, as a firefighter, to serve his community.
