CAPTAIN LARRY CROSSETT - TILLSONBURG FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES, ON
Captain Larry Crossett passed away from a work-related illness on June 26, 2023.
He was a dedicated member for 27 years and had joined the service in 1983.
Those who knew Larry, would remember him in his professional service and personal life as someone who believed in putting forth nothing less than 150%. Serving as a firefighter from day one became part of who he was, what he stood for, and what he hoped others would strive to achieve. To be a mentor, a friend, a brotherhood, and a valuable team member. These are the qualities he possessed and trained his co workers to become. It’s still known around the department that new recruits must pass the “Captain Crossett test”, which we are sure is one that has set the bar high.
Larry had a special way of making people laugh, always finding a joke to play on someone and dedicating his love and life to his family and friends. He was often found coaching his children’s sports, helping at Grandchildren’s sports and being their biggest cheering squad.
Larry passed away after a brave and courageous four-year battle with melanoma. He leaves behind his loving wife Marilyn, son Andrew, daughter Jody and husband Dave, and his five grandchildren who he adored and meant the world to, and many dear friends. His loss is felt so deeply as we navigate the world without the presence of such a caring, dedicated, and respected Man.
