Story
Firefighter Jim Cumming died from a work related illness on November 4th, 2022. Jim began his career at the age of 21 when he was hired with Guelph Fire Department. Jim then continued his career with Peterborough Fire Services, retiring on January 31st, 2010.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife Linda, his two sons Matthew and Luke, his daughters-in-law Terra and Nicole, and he was especially fond of his five grand children Grayson, Liam, Aliyah, Madison and Samantha.
Jim enjoyed many hobbies such as sea-doing and boating in the summer, and snowmobiling in the winter with friends and his sons. Jim was also a very hard worker, establishing his own concrete business which was very successful.
Jim was very social and stayed connected with many friends since childhood. He was loyal and caring and always willing to help another. Jim was very proud of his career as a fire fighter and was well respected amongst his fellow fire fighters and the community he served.
He was cherished by his family, friends and coworkers and he will be forever remembered.
