Story

Gerry was a proud member of the St. Catharine’s Fire Department for 17 years. He loved his job and colleagues but loved his family most.

He was the proud father of four, and the “Neighbourhood Dad”. On more than once occasion the kids would all come knocking on the door asking if Gerry could come out and play. There were many legendary games of road hockey. Rain or shine, summer or winter. The kids would even shovel the street if needed.

Gerry volunteered with the Merritton Athletic Association as a coach for both soccer and hockey. He also volunteered at the school his children attended. He was always positive and full of laughter and always found a way to teach a life lesson along the way.

Gerry was a much-loved husband, father, son, brother and mentor.
