Captain Ronald G Webber - Edmonton Fire Rescue Services

Captain Ronald Webber died of a work related illness on March 31 2023. He joined Edmonton Fire Department on July 4th 1967

Ron worked as a firefighter in Swansea Wales from 1963-1966 then emigrated to Canada with his wife Margaret and one young son. July 4th 1967 Ron started his career with Edmonton Fire Department and retired July 5th 1999.

Ron was a family man who loved his children and grandchildren alike. He loved to make wine, travel and relax with friends, family, and coworkers. Ron loved animals and had a special bond with all family pets. He was an instrumental part of smoothing the waters when EMS became a part of the EFD in the mid 90’s and had a great welcoming attitude towards all and was able to build good working relationships and set positive examples moving forward.

He was loved by so many and is very much missed, the memories of his sense of humor, his calm demeanor, and his love for his family and friends continue to be examples of how to live and move forward in life.
