Kevin Ottenhof - Acting Chief Training Officer - Kingston Fire & Rescue
Kevin began his career as a firefighter in 1998. He was promoted to Acting Captain in 2010. As a result of an occupational cancer, he transitioned into the Training Division as a Training Officer in 2013 and was appointed Acting Chief Training Officer in 2017. He played an important role as a leader and teacher of firefighters and was a role model to many. He lived to serve others both within the Fire Department and the community. A memorial scholarship was established by the Kingston Professional Firefighters Association membership to recognize Kevin’s commitment to and belief in community service.
One priority that stood ahead of all the rest for Kevin was commitment to family and friends. He was a loving husband, son, brother, friend and awesome dad to his three daughters. Many enjoyable hours were spent at the cottage, now fittingly called Kevin’s Place. He also spent many hours on building projects at home, the cottage and for others. He was always available to help.
Kevin's memory and the impact he had on those around him will continue to be honored and cherished by all those that knew him. He is so missed.
