Story
Captain Tim Papineau
Windsor Fire & Rescue Services, ON.
Captain Tim Papineau died from a work-related injury on October 22, 2019. He joined the Windsor Fire Service in 1994.
Tim Papineau was 19 years old when he eagerly joined the Rochester Volunteer Fire Department, in 1991. He gained invaluable knowledge and experience, and quickly learned that this was his true passion and calling. In 1994, Tim was extremely proud to be hired, and begin his career, with the Windsor Fire and Rescue Service, where he respectfully served for 25 years. Tim was a man who led with his heart in both his personal and professional life. His unending love for his family, devotion to his friends, and dedication to his career in the Fire Service were commendable.
Tim thoroughly enjoyed and was engaged in his family life, having shared 30 years with his wife, daughter, and son, travelling, camping, attending their sporting activities, coaching, and the ever-important nightly family dinner. He also cherished time spent with any, and all, extended family, and the most wonderful friends. There was nothing better than hearing him partake in witty banter and cheerfully laugh out loud.
As a Firefighter, Tim was respectful of his obligation to learn, grow, know, conduct, and put into practice, the duties and responsibilities of his profession, to the best of his ability each shift. He worked diligently to earn his ranking as “Captain”, and a qualified District Chief, within the department.
In life, Tim lived and worked with a passion to do, and be, his very best. As his beloved family, we cherish every memory we have ever shared with him. We continue to carry his love and heartwarming smile, into each new tomorrow.
In precious memory of our loving Husband, Father, Brother, Friend, Coach, Mentor, and fellow Firefighter – never to be forgotten.
