FIRE FIGHTER GERALD BRISTER

WINDSOR FIRE & RESCUE SERVICE, ON

Fire Fighter Gerald Brister died from a work-related illness on July 23, 2023.  He joined the fire service in 1962.

Family Memories:

Gerald (Gerry) Brister was a proud member of the Windsor Fire & Rescue Service for 31 years.

He was a devoted husband to Mary with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage.  He enjoyed family time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

After his retirement, Dad was very generous with his time.  He spent Mondays visiting his friends with health issues, donated and volunteered at Canadian Blood Services and spent many years volunteering with Windsor Goodfellows where he and his wife, Mary, were named Goodfellows of the Year.

Throughout his life he was active in sports, playing AKO football, and Civic League baseball.  He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and listening to music.  He loved to joke around and he maintained his sense of humor right to then end.  His favourite times were when his family was around.
