Story

Peter Dauphinee began his career in service completing five years with the Toronto Police Department before finding his true calling as a firefighter. In 1988 he joined Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service where he proudly served for 25 years. Peter expanded his dedication to community service by teaching CPR/First Aid, and volunteering with such organizations as Global Medic Disaster Relief, and the Pan Am Games.

Peter was a devoted husband and father, and an avid, outdoor enthusiast on land, snow, ice or water. He was a master scuba diver for over 40 years, enjoyed motorcycles, cars, mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, skiing, sailing, playing hockey and travelling. He simply LOVED life. At the age of 66, Peter began taking kiteboarding lessons. There was never enough time to fit it all in.

After surviving his first work-related illness in 2013, Peter developed another which eventually caused his death. His larger-than-life energy, sense of humour, and infinite love is deeply missed by his wife, two children, grandchildren, friends and neighbours.
