PLATOON CHIEF DONALD MEDHURST

Platoon Chief Donald Medhurst died from a work related illness November 12,2020. He joined the fire service in 1969.
Family memories
Don was a proud member of the Cobourg Fire Department for 30 years, rising through the ranks and retiring as a Platoon Chief.
His greatest passion in life was definitely his love of family. He was always there for them when needed. His other passion was animals especially his dog Katie. He loved to travel and spending winters in Florida. He loved golfing with friends and his yearly fishing trip with his son and grandsons which he was fortunate to do for 40 years.
Don’s friends and colleagues would describe him as a hardworking guy who always had a smile on his face, liked to have fun and laugh and always had a joke to share.
His death was the result of a work related illness and his absence in our lives will be difficult. The memories of many joyous occasions we shared will carry us forward as we continue our lives without his incredible presence. He will always be a cherished HERO by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends.
