FIREFIGHTER BERNARD MACDONALD

Firefighter Bernard Macdonald died from a work-related illness on September 10th 2023. He joined the fire service in 1967.

Bernie- or "Boomer' as he was known by his fellow firefighters- was a proud member of the Canadian Forces Base Borden Fire Department for 29 years, serving his community with great pride and perseverance. He loved his career as a firefighter but always made sure family came first. When he was not at the firehouse or with his family, he could be on the golf course.

He will be missed by many. He was cherished by his grandsons, friends, family members and co-workers for his great love and giving nature.
