William "Ted" Burden
Battalion Chief
Story
Ted Burden started with the Vancouver Fire Department in 1964 and retired 32 years later as a Battalion Chief. He was an active member, participating with the Curling Club, Handball Club, Training Department, Firefighters Band and Charitable Society.
Ted followed in the footsteps of his father, Bill Burden, who retired after 35 years with Vancouver Fire in 1970 as a Battalion Chief. Ted's son, Ross Burden retired in January 2025 as a Battalion Chief after serving 32 years with the Vancouver Fire Department.
