Captain Craig (Allan) Davis

Captain Craig Davis was a member of the Westmount Fire Department and subsequently the Montreal Fire Department from 1975 to 2005.

Craig was a proud firefighter (1975-1995), Lieutenant (1995-2000) and Captain (2000-2005). He was a recipient of the Governor General’s Exemplary Service Medal and received several recognitions from the city for his dedication and efficiency. He took on many additional opportunities as a result of his career as a firefighter, including being a medic for film crews, working the Grand Prix fire teams, a limousine driver, a consultant for Arson for Profit Investigations and was appointed to the municipal task force on Emergency Response to Terrorism.  Following his retirement from the fire department, he worked at McGill University as a security supervisor as well as a technician at John Abbott College’s Paramedic Care Program.

Craig was a wonderful father, brother and friend. He was a passionate historian, receiving the 1997 Westmount Historical Association Award for his knowledge of Local History. He also enjoyed military history and researching family genealogy.

Craig’s name on the wall stands alongside his colleagues from the Westmount Fire Department, Éric Hart and Patrick (Paddy) Geraghty, both of whose deaths affected him greatly. In his final days, he took solace in knowing that he gave the ultimate sacrifice to his job.

Craig passed away from a work-related illness (Glioblastoma) on April 16, 2024.

May he never be forgotten.
