David Doyle was a volunteer with the Nelson Fire Department for 39 years having joined in 1970. He responded to many emergency calls, and he would enter a burning structure without giving it a second thought. He worked tirelessly to raise funds within the organization to purchase vehicles and equipment, and also for those in need. His service was second to none. David enjoyed spending time working on his woodlot and in his large garden. He loved bowling and could be found on the alley a few times every week. David was diagnosed with an Occupational Illness in 2018. He fought this illness the same way he lived his life – giving it all that he had. He passed away on December 12, 2022. He will always be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his great ability to “get everyone’s goat”, and his big smile. He loved deeply and was deeply loved. His memory will remain with us forever. He is missed beyond measure. David was the very best.
