Story

Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Ralph later moved to Ontario for work opportunities where his love of being near water eventually led him to The Toronto Harbour Commission. Here he learned about the aspects of becoming a Marine Captain. After the required time on the water and completion of the necessary courses Ralph received his Marine Captain License. Ralph later had the opportunity to join The Toronto Fire Department's Marine Unit. He became a Marine Captain on the William Lyon Mackenzie where he served for 23 years with distinction and honour.
