Story

David Ronald Atwell followed in his father Ron’s footsteps (Fire Chief, Department of National Defense) and proudly began his career with the Etobicoke Fire Department on October 30th, 1972. Spending the majority of his career at Station 9, (Now TFS Station 435) on Eighth Street, David retired on January 31st, 2006 as the Chief of Operations Training for Toronto Fire Services. On the 8th of November, 2019, David passed away of pancreatic cancer at the age of 73.
